The purpose of the AMHB is to oversee the promotion and proper management of the Harrier and Beagle hunts.

The Association aims to:

1. Set and maintain standards of conduct and performance of Member Hunts in kennels, and in their activities;
2. Encourage development of the best working qualities of the harrier and beagle;
3. Promote the maintenance of a healthy and balanced hare population;
4. Protect members from adverse legislation
5. Liaise with other organisations whose legitimate interests are concerned with the hare, the hound or the countryside.
